"Library Classic Conversations"
New! Join Maestro Intriligator and others for a noon time "Library Classic Conversations." These events will be held at the Laramie County Library the Friday before each concert. The first event will be on Friday, September 26 at noon at the library. Library Classic Conversations are open to the public. Bring a brown bag lunch, meet the conductor, and have some of the mystery and formality taken out of classical music. ImageGreg Dyekman, President of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, announces that Dr. William Intriligator has accepted the CSO Board of Directors' offer to serve as Music Director and Conductor beginning July 1, 2008. This opportunity is a result of winning a national two year search that vetted more than 165 conductor applicants.

In a mid-February WTE interview Intriligator talked about his vision for the CSO and the community. "In the industry, it's important for you to know that the Cheyenne Symphony is very highly considered, he said. "There's a good reputation out there about the Cheyenne Symphony." "My vision, if anything, would be to try to take it further and reach more people and make a bigger impact." During his week in Cheyenne earlier in February Intriligator talked about how our talented orchestra players and dedicated staff, can make a meaningful impact on the quality of life in our community through quality musical performances and educational programs. "Maestro Intriligator comments, "I look forward to the professional opportunities that the Cheyenne position offers." He has also served for the past eight years as the music director and conductor for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and has recently had his contract with that organization extended to the year 2012. As a guest conductor, Maestro Intriligator has led performances with many fine ensembles across the country including the Houston Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Savannah Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Honolulu Symphony, Tulsa Philharmonic, and many others. Prior to his appointment in Dubuque, Dr. Intriligator served as Music Director of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra, both in Minneapolis. He also served as Apprentice Conductor and Staff Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra for many years, as well as Assistant Conductor of the Minnesota Opera. Maestro Intriligator attended Princeton University, where he graduated summa cum laude in music. In addition, he was the first recipient of a Princeton diploma in conducting and awarded the Sacks prize for most outstanding musician in his class. Intriligator completed his doctoral and masters degrees in conducting at the University of Minnesota. Additional conducting studies have taken him to the Aspen Music Festival, the Pierre Monteux School, as well as to Germany, France, and Italy. Born and raised in Southern California, Intriligator studied oboe and piano before turning to conducting.
